Dear Ms. Kimbrough,
Summer went by so fast! I hung out with family and friends. Also visited some family in other states. I did a lot of traveling in the first month!
Something sun I did this summer was go to my nationals dance competition. It was in Panama City Beach. The ocean might of been filled with seaweed but i got to dance m little heart out the other days! I loved being able to visit my step-family in Michigan. Especially since I only get to see them a few times a year.
Also the weather was perfect!
I was born in Michigan when my parents had to moved there for my dad's work. I lived there until I was two and a half. Then we decided to move back to Louisiana. I also have to biological brothers. With my dad and his new wife i have a step brother, step sister, and half sister that live in Michigan with my step mom. My mom was recently married and her husband brought two daughters and a son into the family. Beside one step sister that is only four and a half month older than me, I am the oldest!
I hated that i didn't get to see as many friends as I would have liked over the summer. But at least i got to see my best friend Jordan a lot. We pracically lived at each others house!I expect ELA to be a lot of fun and challenging. I'm hoping to challenge myself and stay on track in school this year. I'm also very excited for the units we will be learing this year, especially horror!
Three adjectives that describe me are stubborn, hilarious, and emotional...I've been told! I've always been stubborn just like my dad. I like to stick to my opinions. My step sister and I (whose name is also Haley) can sit there for hours making each oter laugh! But I'm also pretty funny with my friends. I know every teen has there problems and is emotional but i take everything to heart, which makes me ten times worse! But some times it helps to bring out my good emotions and personality.
For high school it is my dream to go to Baton Rouge High but I have a feeling that's not going to happen. My mother wants to move but I want to go to BRMHS for so long! So right now im on the fence for high school.
My hobbies are dancing, art, and reading. Last year i did competition dance, but my mom won't let me do it this year. So I'm just in recreational dance. I too art for four years and loved it. My mom is really good at art and I guess I picked it up from her! My favorite thing to do in art is water color. But i love to draw! I hated to read in elementary school; despised it! But when i got into middle school i starting reading The Vampire Diaries. I have been watching the show since fifth grad. The show and the books are nothing alike but both amazing! I'm obsessed! Well I had an okay summmer and it also went by super fast! ut I'm glad to be back in school and looking forward to eighth grade!
This summer I went to New Orleans with my mom, her co-worker, my sister, and my cousin. It was so much fun. We ate beignets, went to the museum, and ate crawfish (of course).I met a new friend named Niki. She is 13, just like me. We have so much in common like dancing and singing. I like to sing, dance, sing, and act. My goal for this year in E.L.A. is to learn to read out loud better for my acting career. I was born on October 23, 1997 in New Orleans. I have 2 parents,2 sisters, Serena,7,Summer,almost 2,and 3 dogs, Pretty Girl and Bluecie and Sasha. I am outgoing and outspoken. I don’t know where I will go to high school. I am very passionate about acting, cheer, and, dancing.
Something I did this summer was go to Foley,Alabama. Foley,Alabama was a fun trip, I got to go shopping and go to a resteraunt called Lamberts Cafe.That is basically what i did all summer.

For the summer I wemt to Virginia and we went to a water park called Ocean Breeze.It was really fun. I like to play soccer with friends,but i dont like the mean dogs that live on my street.They are both German shepherds.I want to get good grades all year and have a good year.I was born in Hampton,Virginia on March 19,1998.My mom works for womans hospital and my dad is in the military. I had a fabulous summer. My mom, brother, dad, and I all went on a trip to North Carolina and Tennessee. We took a tour of the Biltmore Castle, it was stunning. We also went to Pigeon Forge, where we spent all our money. One of the many things I like to do is read, but I don’t like how hard it is for me to find a book that I enjoy. I also don’t like how the school assigns us a book list that we have to choose books from. I love that Sherwood has many things that we can choose to do. I dislike that this is my last year here. My goal for ELA this year is to maintain an A the whole year. I was born here in Baton Rouge on April 13th at Woman’s Hospital. My mom’s name is Donna C. and she works at Baton Rouge Center of Visual and Performing Arts. This is her first year there. My dad’s name is Wallace C. Sr. and he is a self employed pressure washer, carpenter, and painter. My brother’s name is Wallace C. Jr. and he goes to LSU. He is studying to be an environmental engineer. He works along with my dad when he is not in class. My brother and I are ten years apart. Three words I would describe myself as are thoughtful, sensitive at times and extremely dramatic. I plan on going to Baton Rouge High for high school. A few interesting things about me are that I love to act and I can’t wait for the drama unit! I would like to be an actress when I grow up, although if that doesn’t work out I would like to be a forensic scientist.

I am so excited to be in your class this year. I would like to share some information with you about me.
I was born in Paris, France on March 23, 1997. My dad is in the army and our family was stationed there at the time. I spent the first five years of my life in Paris and it was great. I can still speak a little French, but not much anymore because I was too little to remember. Some people say I still have a French accent.
I have a large family. I have 2 sisters and 5 brothers. I also have a dog named Beignet and a cat named French Fry. I am the youngest kid and I’m always getting picked on by my brothers. My brothers try to make me wear their old, dirty, holey, trifling socks. My mom works all the time as a secretary, and my dad is currently deployed in Iraq. I really miss my dad, so I write him letters every week.
Three adjectives I would use to describe myself are fun, awkward, and shy. I think I am fun because I have lots of hobbies and a great personality. My friends always say that I’m always laughing and am very silly. I think I am awkward because I always say wrong things at the wrong time, and because I am hopelessly confused. I describe myself as shy because I kind of stick to myself when I’m around new people. But hopefully that will change.

I’m really looking forward to having a great ELA experience this year. I would like to tell you a few things about myself.
This summer, I visited Munich, Germany with my mom, my dad, and my brother. My dad is in the Navy and he was stationed there for the summer. While we were there, we went to the beach, and it was really cold. We also went to tons of museums. My brother, Kyle went skydiving, and he said that it was an interesting experience.
I was born in Phoenix, Arizona on May 6, 1997. My parents were on vacation when I was born. My dad won court side seats to the Lakers vs. Suns game, and he made my pregnant mom come along. She actually went into labor at the game, but I was born at the hospital.
As I already mentioned, my family consists of my dad, my mom, and my brother, Kyle. My dad is a sergeant in the Navy and my mom is a kindergarten teacher. My brother is attending Harvard University, and he is studying to become a lawyer. I have a dog named Smores and two ferrets named Salt and Pepper.
Three adjectives that I would use to describe myself are clumsy, dramatic, and smart. I say that I am clumsy because I always trip over the same rug everyday. I trip over practically everything, even things that aren’t there. People say I am dramatic because when I didn’t get the starring role in the school play, I cried for two weeks. I didn’t even go to the show because it was too hurtful and devastating. Finally, I would describe myself as smart because I make straight A’s. I’ve also received the most AR points in my ELA class since 6th grade.

Dear Ms. Kimbrough,
I am very exited to be in the class I wanted. I believe that I will do well in class. I would like to tell you about my summer.
This summer, I went to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. In Tennessee, my family and I went to Dollywood, Alpine slide, white water rafting, hiking, and zip-lining. My youngest and I went on all five zip-lines, my parents went on three of them,and my other brother didn’t go.
I like a lot of things, some of witch include: skateboarding, going to the mall, and watching my stories (my favorite shows). I try to go skateboarding every day possible and practice really hard. Everyday I work on a new trick. I go to the almost every weekend, either with my brothers or my friends. Every night, after I finish skateboarding, I watch my favorite shows.
There are a few things I do not like. I don’t like boring roller coasters or loosing a video game more than about five or more times. If I do happen to come across a bad roller coaster and ride it, I wont freakout, but it wont be as fun for me. By the time I cant beat a game up to the fifth time I will probably yell.
This year in ELA I expect to do well. I have had troubles in seventh grade but will do better this year. I will do every bonus possible to keep my grade up. I know that you will be a great teacher because your previous student have told me so many great things.
I am thirteen years old, almost fourteen. My birthdate is December 5, 1997. I was born here in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I have always lived here, too.
I have a medium sized family. my parents are together. I have five brothers, two of witch live with me. my other brother have already finished high school and live in Alabama. They come to visit during holidays.
I think that I am a persistent because I wont stop until I get it down. I am also energetic and always ready to do something active. I am also a little funny sometimes. I like making my little brothers laugh.
I plan to test out of geometry and science for high school. I also plan to test out of spanish c. I want to go to Baton Rouge High and probably will. If everything goes good I should graduate early.

There were a few fun things that I did this summer. I went to Blue Bayou with my Aunt Karen and watched a bunch of horror moviies. Most of them weren't even scary. I saw Insidious, The Last Exorcism, Saw 3D, and Paranormal Activity 2. the scariest one was Insidious because it made me jump a little bit.
There were a bunch of things this that I liked and dislike. Some of the things that I liked about the summer was that i got do a lot of stuff that I can't do during the school year like pull all nighters and watch scary movies all night. Also I liked not having to do school work.
Some things that i didn't like was that most of the scary horror movies weren't even scary. Also I was to wake up early just to fix the bed. The reason why is because me and my cousin took the mattres and put it in the middle of the floor.
My expectations and goals for ELA this school year are to actually do the homework this year and pay attention more in class.
I was born August 6,1998 in Baton Rouge, LOuisiana. I dont know what hospital though. I have lived in Baton Rouge all my life.
I am an only child. I have a one year old brindle boxer named Bruno. My dad got him for me. I live with my mom because my parents are separeted. My mom works at Southern Law Center as a law school teacher and part lawyer. My dad works at a hospital in Jackson, Louisiana as something to do with technology. I'm not all that sure.
I am a crazy, laid back , athletic guy. I am crazy because I do crazy things like say random stuff, like fake like I tripped just to say you didnt see. Im laid back because if I have nothing to do I just watch anything on tv and then fall asleep and most of the time I'm calm and relaxed. Im athletic because I play soccer, football, and basketball.
The high school I plan on attending is Mckinly High but my mom is making me go to Baton Rouge High.

I hope that this year would be fun and easy.There are some things I want you to know about me.
This summer I went to California and Las Vegas with my cousins , my mom , and my 2 sisters. When we drove to Las Vegas we all walked down the Las Vegas strip and it took us hours just to walk the whole thing. Our legs got tired and we had to like sit down a lot of times. When we rove back to California the next day we went to disney land and went on so many rides. It was so hot we got a whole bunch of ice cream and like we had to wait in long lines. At the end of the day we rode one more ride than went to go watch the most amazing fireworks ever.
Some of the things I like are unicorns , toy story , and the color purple . Unicorns are just amazing and like I love it because it seems magical . Toy story is my favorite movie because ever since I was little and the first time I watched it I was in love with it. Purple makes me feel like im calm and just in a good mood. Some things I dislike is some vegteables , color yellow , and mustard. Vegetables aren't that good and like it tastes werid . The color yellow is too bright for me and when I look at it i think ew. Mustard is just not my favorite sauce taste like a nasty yucky thing.
My goals in ELA this year is that trying to get good grades , studying what I need , and get my stuff in on time . I wanna improve on my good grades in ELA because years I've been having like C's so need to get my grade to an A. When I get home I wanna study for a test and try to do my best on it. I dont want to have my things I need to turn in late becuase like my grade will go down and I dont wanna have that.
I was born in Baton Rouge , Louisiana on July 23, 1997. I was born in the hospital Lady of the Lake. My mom had to get her belly cut because my head was big. I don't know much of when I was born .
My family isn't that big because I have a mom, dad, and 2 sisters. My mom owns a laundry place and she wakes up early plus she works really hard. My dad owns a mechanic shop he works with his friends. Kelly , my sister, goes to woodlawn with my sister Nickie. They both go to high school and they take care of me everyday.
Three things that describe me is that im clumsy , funny , and hyper. I always fall and trip because i always laugh at things and sometimes i don't notice. People think im funny at moments , I love to make people smile because I hate to see them down. Everytime I have sugar i go hyper and be happy but sometimes i go crazy.
The school I plan to go is Baton Rouge High . I want to go there because I want to go in a good college . My mom wants me to go so I can go in a good school . I just hope I can get my leap scores and grades to get in the school.
I love reading romance and drama books . They give me something to wonder and who did this thing to this person. Makes me wanna read more about them.

I am VERY much looking forward to spending time in your class, as your student. I just have a few things I would like to tell you, about myself.
My birth date is May 13, 1998. I was raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I was born in Earl K. Long Hospital. They’ve recently taken out the Maternity Ward, which is saddening to me. I’ve always wanted to see the exact room that I as born in. It’s seems as though it would be a special feeling.
My family is on the top of my priority list. My family means so much to me. They’re my motivation to keep my head in the books. My mother’s name is Cathrine Franklin, and my father’s name is Alvin Franklin. They are divorced, but I’m okay with it. I have a wonderful stepmother who loves me just as much. I have an older sister, named Takara, and a younger brother named Bryan. My sister is my role model, and best friend. I couldn’t survive without my family.
This summer wasn’t the best, but it wasn’t the worst. I enjoyed my time while I had it, but I was ready to return to school. The most enjoyable thing I did this summer was, surprisingly, school shopping. School shopping was different for me this time because I was so excited. I also swam more than I normally would during the summer.
I don’t dislike many things, but my biggest dislike is to hear someone smacking. Maybe it’s just me, and my attitude, but I can’t deal with the smacking. I’ll get irritated and annoyed, and be upset for quite some time. Call me crazy, but smacking is my worst pet peeve.
In ELA this year, a goal for myself is to get more AR points than I ever had. I also would like to read more book than I’ve ever had. I expect to enjoy myself, but work hard as well. I’m determined to keep my grades up, and try to get all A’s and B’s . Maybe I’ll get more than what I’m expecting!
I plan on attending high school at BRMHS (Baton Rouge Magnet High School), of course. It’s wonderful for me academically. At first, I wanted to go to McKinley Senior High School, but I just wasn’t sure. BRMHS didn’t seem like the “full high school experience”. I want to be able to go to football games, etc. I then realized that I don’t need sports to be able to experience the “full high school experience” .
Three adjectives to describe me could possible be funny, a people-person, and bubbly. I’m naturally funny. I don’t try to crack jokes on purpose. I would call myself a people-person because I love to help people when they’re in need. I’m bubbly because I’m always happy. Well, I can’t say always, but I try to keep myself happy at all times. My best friends know how to cheer me up when I have those days. People just love me.

I am really excited to be in your class for ELA this year. You were the teacher I wanted to get for ELA. This is some stuff I would like to share with you.
Over the summer I went to Maine for three weeks. We went biking through forests, over rivers and by waterfalls. Next we went and ate at a nice restaurant. Then I bought balsa wood planes and worked to make a custom-gliding machine. Finally we went home and I hung out with friends all day long until school.
Some of what I like is weird. I like The History Channel, and I like to watch it all day. I also like Star Trek, it has almost everything in the show, they have fights, love, gambling, death, war and space. I don’t like my braces because I can’t have candy, gum or sticky stuff at all! I don’t like badly cooked food because if it was made wrong and tastes bad it is a waste of food!
What I expect in ELA this year is fun and learning new things about English. I also expect to work hard and do fun activities.
I was born in Boston April fifteenth nineteen ninety-eight. When I was three my parents got jobs here and we moved to Baton Rouge.
My family is small of large depending on how you look at it. My family is large because our dogs are family. My family is small because it is me, Mom and Dad.
I would describe myself as weird, funny, and loud. I am weird because I never follow what is currently cool. I am funny because I can make jokes and people laugh. I am loud because always tell me to be quiet.
I plan to go to Baton Rouge High because it is a really good school and I can take the bus to LSU and hang out with my dad. Then later in eleventh grade I can get a job at Inga’s.

ELA 5A
Something fun I did this summer was going to Florida for vacation. I went with my mother, auntie, uncle, cousins, and my sister. The hotel we stayed at was on the beach! The hotel even had a huge swimming pool. It had a Jacuzzi, an inside pool, where the inside pool was it had a steam room, and a kiddy pool for babies! The first day when we went to the beach the waves were huge, because it was so strong we had went to another area on the beach. The next day we went to the area where the waves were blowing and strong. My mother made me use a floater because I can’t swim and she didn’t want the waves to pull me back, but we were in shadow water! The third day we rode the go carts, went jet skiing, played golf, and went to a restaurant called Crabs! Then we went to the beach and we swam at the pool at the hotel. We didn’t want to leave so, we extended our stay!
I like to read. My favorite book series are the Drama High and the Pretty Little Liars series! I’m still reading both series. When I finish reading the books it doesn’t always have the next books in the series when I need it, so I read the next book in the other series if it’s available. I like the Drama High Series because it’s a lot of drama, but it’s so interesting I can never put the book down. That’s why I take AR test every two days because I read so much and quickly! I like the Pretty Little Liars Series because it’s so mysterious!
My goal for ELA this year is to have the most AR points out of the entire 8th grade! I like to read, so I know I can do it! And I would also like to have an “A” in both English and Literature. My expectation is to learn a lot of things and pay attention in class. Literature is my favorite part of ELA!

My mother was born July 6, 1975. My mother and I have the same birthday. I like to tell people I’m her gift because I was born on her birthday! My mother is 36 years old. I have two sisters! My oldest sister name is Joanna and she is 17 years old. She was born January 21, 1994. My other sister name is Roben and she was born November 12, 1995. She is the second oldest. I’m the youngest out of my sisters.
Three adjectives I would describe myself is clever, athletic, and unique! I would describe myself as clever because I am very smart. I attend Sherwood Middle Academic Magnet School. I take three high school courses. I would describe myself as athletic because I love to play sports. I like to play basketball, but I’m not very good at it. I like to play volleyball, soccer, football, and softball. I describe myself as unique, because I don’t try to fit in with other people. Another reason I describe myself as unique is because I’m kind of a girly girl and pricy but I love to play games and sports.
I don’t know where I want to attend high school. I have two high schools in mind. The two schools I have in mind are McKinley High School and Baton Rouge High. I want to attend McKinley High School because I want to go to school with my sister. I want to attend Baton Rouge High because a lot of my friends go there and they want me to go to school with them. I kind of want to go to a private school. I just want to explore my choices and options.
I would also like to share about myself is how much I like Justin Bieber! I have three posters of him hanging on my wall. I have a Justin Bieber calendar on my wall. I also have 3 Justin Bieber CDs. I just need one more Justin Bieber CD and I will have all of them. I also want Justin Bieber perfume and lotion; it’s called “Someday.” I have a Justin Bieber book and I have many pictures of him, I know a lot about him you can ask me anything and I will know it! Everybody in the entire school know that I’m madly in love with him!

I’m really excited this year to be in your class. I would like to share some things about myself.
This summer I visited my cousins, and aunty, uncle in Moline, Illinois. I had a great time there but, I was sad to leave when it was time.

People say I am helpful because I help my friends and classmates if they drop their books. I am helpful because it makes me feel good to do something right. I am very excited to be in you class this year. I have heard many rumors (mostly positive), about your class whether they were true or not, I am excited no matter what. Also because my favorite subject is ELA, just makes the class more enjoyable. Since I am going to be in your class for the rest of the year, I thought I could share some things about myself to you.
My family and I did not go out of state for vacation this summer. However, my family and I was able to attend a graduation ceremony at LSU. I remember how we got lost on our way there, making the trip even longer. Not only that, we spent thirty minutes trying to find a parking spot. After we finally found an empty spot, the difficult part began. I made a mistake wearing a dress that day, because we had to walk more than I thought. When we arrived, the place was crowded. My sister clung on to me the whole time. After finding a seat, we waited for the ceremony to begin. After what felt like thousands of years, my aunt’s name was called and we cheered. Finally when the ceremony was almost over, the audience got to listen to the band. The trip was worth it because it made my aunt happy and I got to see a college graduation.
I also wanted to tell you things I like and dislike. The things I like are: reading, drawing, playing videogames, babysitting my little sister, and playing violin and piano. Playing an instrument makes me feel at peace, somehow, I can’t fully understand it but I guess it means I like music. Even though most people wouldn’t like to babysit, I like my sister’s company. I dislike quite a few things: going shopping for clothes, being rushed to do something, running, and when my sister breaks my stuff. I don’t see the joy of getting new clothing, usually my mom shops for my clothes. When people rush me to do something, I can’t concentrate and it actually makes me annoyed.
This year for ELA I expect myself to work hard and be a better student. I would like to participate more in class discussions and turn in all my work. My goals are simple, try to make the best grade that I can achieve and read lots of books. If I push myself a little further, I also hope to get the highest number of AR points in the class.
I was born in Saigon, Vietnam, so I am not a native here. I moved to Baton Rouge when I was around five years old. My birthday is on January 28, 1998 and I am currently thirteen years old.
I have a pretty small family which contains of my mom, dad, little sister, and dog. Although both of my parents are very loving, they are also very strict. My little sister is two years old and very rambunctious. She loves to mess up my room and leave. Even though I hate that about her, you can’t choose your siblings. My dog’s name is Lucy and she is a German shepherd. She has been in our family as long as I could remember.
If I had to choose three adjectives to describe myself it would have to be: quiet, artistic, and forgetful. I am naturally quiet, if I am not addressed to and I like to observe instead of talking. If I am with my friends, only if I have something to say then I would speak. I consider myself artistic in my own way. I always liked drawing or conjuring up stories to write or tell. I am definitely forgetful because whenever my mom tells me to remember this or that, a few moments later I will forget. Especially when I am looking for my stuff it becomes an issue.
I am planning to attend Baton Rouge High School. It is a very prestigious school, in my opinion, so it would be very hard to get into. However, I think it is within my reach.

I didn't do much this summer, but one fun thing I did was that i went to Chicago with my family. We stayed with my aunt and her puppies, Kola and Diamond,the cutest little puppies in the world! I had a lot of fun in Illinois. We went many places and did a lot of shopping! I can't wait for free dress day now.
One thing I really like is the color green. Everything I buy has to be green. Especially my shoes. Also, I like to write and run. Every morning I wake up extremely early to go running. It helps me think clearly and I feel really good after. Writing is my passion. I write in my spare time and whenever we have a writing project in school, I get so excited! One thing that I strongly dislike is pests. They are so creepy to me and spiders are the worst! I also dislike wasting my money. One minute I think I have a thousand dollars, the next I'm wondering what happened to it!
My expectation for English this year is to learn more than I every have in English before. I expect to have fun, but at the same time learn valuable lessons both for life and for school. My goal is to keep my English grade high all year long. Also, I plan to turn in all my homework early. That way, I can be more responsible and better prepared for high school.
I was born into this world on April 21,1998 in the city of Baton Rouge. My mom is a real estate broker and multiple business owner. I have three siblings: two brothers and a sister,all older than me. My oldest brother goes to LSU while my second oldest brother will be attending Yale University in the fall. My sister is a senior at Baton Rouge High. She's four years older than me.
Three adjectives I'd use to describe myself are funny, perfectionist, and understanding. I'm funny because I'm always making jokes. Whenever somebody says something, a witty comment automatically pops into my head. I have to have just about everything perfect: my handwriting, my room, and my school work. I just need to be organized! I'm always open and listening to what other people have to say and most of the time I can relate to others which is why I would say I am understanding.
At the moment I'm not sure what high school I am going to attend. Baton Rouge High is a strong possibility since I've already been accepted, but I'm going to just wait and see where life takes me.

Hi,my name is RaKayla. In this essay I would like to let you know alittle about myself. In my own opinion I think I'm a great student.
I found this summer extremely fun because I got to travel while running track.My sister and I traveled to Birmingham,Alabama and Wichita,Kansas plus other great places.Away from track I went on a family camping trip. Where my family laughed and played. While fishing,swiming,eating smores, or just our family talent show.It was a blast and I cant wait untill next year.
I really enjoy being active, being involed in sports, and listening to music.I do track,basketball, and cheerleading. This year im going to try volleyball for the first time.My dislikes would included boring books,staying still, and being alone.Just because I like to talk and I would need somebody to talk to.
In elemantry school I was always on the A'B honor roll or all A'. This summer was terrific because i gotten to do something that goes with my outstanding passion for music that goes out of this universe.Well see i'm in 8 grade and well Scotland-Ville do not have 8th graders well duh cause its a high school well it does have an eight grade and his name is Javonte M.i wanted to tell you about that cause that made me fill somewhat special that i'm in two bands.Besides that i went to raisen Canes almost everyday. Gosh! awesome food.I went to Mississippi and that's about it because my moms getting married this year and August.

Something fun I did this summer was spend time with my cousin's. We went
to the park and played basketball, bought Snowballs, and made dances to songs.
I also had a sleepover at my house. We watched movies, played games, and went

see what is happening. I like to swim because it relaxes me and it's fun. I dislike

I hope that this year would be fun and easy.There are some things I want you to know about me.
This summer I went to Florida with my cousin, some close friends and my siblings. We drove there, it was amazing and crowded but, it was worth it because I had a lot of fun so did everyone. We did a lot of fun things there. We went to the beach first thing. We did kayaking and it was so much fun because my partner was my friend and she keep falling off. We also did parasailing, that was great. I got to see dolphins and two sharks. It was really calm when we got up to the sky. I was in one of those hamster wheel but the water kind, my sister fell a lot of time but I didn’t. That was really fun then we got some ice cream. We got to see some fireworks and we light some of ours on the beach. Then we walk on the beach at midnight.
Some of the things I like are swimming , Spongebob Squarepants and the best one is the color purple. Swimming is just amazing to me just because when I am in the water I feel so calm. I feel like I’m in my own world. Spongebob is just funny to me, I love how his friendship works with Patrick. It teaches me how to be a great friend to mines. Purple makes me feel like I’m really happy and enthusiastic. I don’t dislike a lot of things but I do dislike the color pink, to me it is like a Barbie color and I hate Barbie.
My goals in ELA this year is that trying to get good grades , studying a lot what I need , and get my stuff in on time . I want to improve on my good grades in ELA because years I've been not doing so great on my tests and quizzes. When I get home I want to study for a test and try to do my best on it.
I was born in Baton Rouge , Louisiana on October 28, 1996. I was born in the hospital Lady of the Lake. I had to get a heart surgery when I was only 3 months old. I really didn’t know what had happened when I was born.
My family isn't that big because I have a mom, dad, brother and sister. My mom owns a nail shop and she wakes up early plus she works really hard. My dad owns a mechanic shop he works with his friends. Rambo, my brother, goes to Belaire High. My sister Maria goes to Park Forest.
Three things that describe me is that I’m crazy, enthusiastic , and helpful. I‘m always doing things that are kind of stupid and I don’t even notice it but my friends do. People think I’m enthusiastic at times and sometimes think I am just by the way I act around them, I‘m always jumping around for no reason and I always do wild things. Everytime my friends are down or my sister, they would come to me and get help. I like helping them because I don’t like it when people are down, specially my close friends. I want them to be happy and smile all day long.
The school I plan to go is Baton Rouge High . I want to go there because I want to go in a good college . My parents wants me to go so I can go in a good school . I just hope I can get my leap scores and grades up so I can get into the school.

i am excited to be in your ELA class. It has been a great three days so far. I am looking forward to the rest of the year. I'd like to tell you how my summer was.
i enjoyed my summer very much. i personally think it was too short. i went to Oaklahoma this summer for about a week. i played beach volleyball most of the time at the hotel. i also went to Flordia with my dad it was really fun, our beach house was right on the beach and it was a very big house. it also had a swimming pool.
A goal for ELA this year is too read more. i'm not a big fan of reading. i'd also like to make good grades.
I was born March 23, 1997. I was born and raised in Baton Rouge, louisisana but ive always wanted to move to the east coast of Australlia. i am 14 years old. i am the youngest in my faily. i have two sisters, one is 15 and the other is 16. I love music, everyday I listen to music as much as I can. I mostly listen to screamo or hard rock, I just love the sound of the drums and loudness. I am currently learning how to play the drums. I also like volleyball, last year i was on the school volleyball team. I dislike reading alot, i spend about 5 hours a day listening to music and about 5 minutes reading. I also dislike mayonase, i tasted it one time in my life and never touched it again.
Three words that i'd use to describe myself is offbeat, sometimes crazy, ans shy. I think im offbeat because im differnt from everyone one else. i think im crazy because i can be really loud around my friends. i think im shy cause im very qiuet around people i dont know but one they get to know me they know i dont shut up. I am so happy to be in your ELA class for my final year at Sherwood. I would like to tell you a little about myself.
This summer, I went to a beach in Gulf Shores, Alabama with my sister and my dad. It was very fun. When we were leaving the beach, we saw a beautiful mermaid made out of sand! It was so amazing. When we left the beach, we drove to Pensacola, Florida and went to another beach. It was very exciting to see the sights of a beach for the first time
I think I have a lot more dislikes than I do likes. Some of my dislikes include bugs! I hate bugs. Yesterday, I was sitting on the sofa watching TV, and I felt something on my arm. It was a beetle! I freaked out and now I have no idea where it is. Other dislikes of mine include cats, peas, and ribs. The reason I don’t like peas is because they are nasty, wrinkly, and squishy. It feels like im eating an old person. To me, cats are the creepiest things ever because they just stare at you. And for some reason I just don’t like eating ribs.
Some of the things that I enjoy doing include listening to music. I love music with a passion. I listen to almost every kind of music that there is. I like music because it can take you to your own world and all of your troubles are set behind you. Another thing that I like to do is watch TV, but not very much.
Some of my favorite shows are Caillou, Spongebob, and Jersey Shore. One other thing that I kind of like to do is read. For me to really read, it has to be a super amazing book. My favorites are the Twilight Series. I’ve read them all and have seen all the recent movies. I can’t wait until November 19th when Breaking Dawn the movie comes out because that is my favorite book of them all.
This year in ELA, I don’t really know what to expect. I hope that we can have fun and also learn at the same time. So far, I love your class. I am having more and more fun everyday! Some of my goals for ELA are to make good grades and to pay attention more. Last year, I didn’t really pay attention much in class because I daydream a lot. Being a daydreamer is not very helpful when it comes to school, but I’ve been working on making me pay attention more.
I was born on December 22, 1997 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I live with my mom, my two sisters, my cousin, and my dog. I love my mom with all my heart. She is the most amazing person in the world. She will help me through thick and thin, and whenever I need her, I know she’ll be there. My cousin, Brittany is 18 and attends BRCC. My older Sister, Keisha, is 24 and is only living with us temporarily. She attends Southern and works at the bank, Chase. My younger sister, Jasmine is 10 years old and attends Westdale heights elementary.
One adjective that I would use to describe myself is shy. I don’t really like public speaking and to some I am always quiet. When im at home and with my closest friends they would never in a million years describe me as quiet and shy. Another adjective that I would use to describe myself would be insecure. I’ve never thought of myself as other people see me, such as beautiful etc. One last adjective I would use to describe myself would be affable. For some reason, a lot of people tend to come to me with their problems. I think that I am a good listener (more than a talker) and can give good advice when needed.
I plan on attending Baton Rouge high school. I think it would be a great experience for high school. I also think that if Baton Rouge high had sports, that their population would exceed and so would their popularity. Another reason why I want to go to Baton Rouge high is because they don’t have uniforms, which I think is a great way to express your personality. Hi, my name is Jamaica. I am 13 years old. My birthday is July 9th 1998. I was born in Des Moines, Iowa. I like to write poetry, sing, and dance. I also like to read. I like to read books about drama. I like The Clique series a lot! I don't like broccoli or cauliflower. I don't like to do presentations in front of people either. I am shy around people I don't know that well.
My mom's name is Ellen. She's really sweet and I can talk to her about anything. She gives great advice! My dad's name is Howard. He's more strict than my mom, but he keeps me in line. He cares about me a lot. Even though he is tough on the outside he's a real softie on the inside.
This summer the most exciting thing that happened to me was that I went to a Mindless Behavior concert in New Orleans. I Love Mindless Behavior. The best part is that I got to see them close up while they were in their tour bus! It was amazing! I felt so stars truck afterwards!!
Three adjectives I would use to describe myself are sweet, funny and understanding. I would use sweet because I like to help others. I also try not to be mean to people. I know sometimes I may say something mean.( I have to be honest) I usually feel guilty for it though at some point. I'm not a mean spirited person. I don't like for people to be mean to me so I try not to be mean to them. I would call myself funny because I like to crack jokes. If you asked my friends if they think I'm funny they'd say yes. I like to have fun and have a good time. The reason I would say I'm understanding is because when my friends tell me stuff that's going on in thier lives I'm always there to listen. I take the time to understand what's going on and I try to give them good advice. I don't like to see my friends sad because then I get sad.

Im so thrilled to be in your class this year! im sure we'll have loads of fun. Lets see..... something fun i did this summer was to chiill at panama. There, we went to tons of muesem's and played in the beach! I loved every second!
I love to sing and play any kind of music. I personally think i sing and play pretty good, but some ononimous HATERS think not! Haha. Some of my dislikes are doing tons of excercise cause, im really lazy, but dont worry, thats when it comes to physical labor. I work very hard in school.
Last year i had a great ELA teacher, so im excpecting good things. ELA has always been one of my best subjects, maybe because i love to read. I really want to learn more about shakespeare, and actually have a hillarious clip i would like to show you about shakespeare!
When i was little my mom took me to a lot of football games (even though i hate football) and i grew up right here in louisiana. i havent been out of the country yet, but im crossing my fingers!
My family is wierd and crazy, but thats why i love them! im crazy to so i cant say anything. My grandma had 7 kids so ihave seven uncles and aunts on my moms side. My grandfather is deceased though. i have a brother and live with my mom cause, my dad and mom are divorced. He still loves me a ton, and i have one uncle and one aunt on his side. they're all really nice and i love them more than anything.

Something fun I did this summer was going to Pensacola Beach. It was fun because we stayed there really late. We also had a picnic at the beach. We stayed there from like 12 pm to 7pm. At night it was cold and better waves.
I love basketball it is one of my passions. I played basketball in the summer. I was a center and shooting guard. I love Kobe Bryant he is the best basketball player right now. I dislike soccer it is not that fun to me.

Something fun I did this summer was, go to Foley, Alabama. I had fun, my mom, my cousins, my aunts and I went shopping and was supposed to go to the beach but didn’t. We also so went to a restaurant called Lamberts Café. It was a long drive there, it took four hours to get there and four hours back. Talk about tired. Too bad we didn’t get to stay the night in a hotel. But I still had fun. Basically that’s all I did this summer literally.
My likes and dislikes. My likes, well I like apples, cut pineapples, watermelon, and maybe grapes. I also like food. My dislikes, I don’t like bananas, hate bananas. My other dislikes I don’t know or remember at the time. Oh and I dislike when Styrofoam rub against things and it makes those squeaky noises.
My expectations for ELA are to do my best and do all my assignments on time and have no late work what so ever. And try to make A’s all the time, if I can.

This year I am looking forward to being in your class. My English teachers so far in my life have been the most intelegent.
This summer I went to Gulf Shores, Al. It was fun but I was scared at times because there were jellyfish and at one time there was a shark. My brother got a pet hermit crab.I went to a week long boy scout camp in Virginia. It was cool during the night so I had no problem getting to sleep.
Somethings that I like are hamburgers, macaroni, pizza camping, running and swimming. I don't like (this will be a long list of foods and some bugs that bite and/or sting)pickles, beats, cauliflour, coleslaw, and strangely salad. I also don't like spiders bees, wasps, hornets, ants, and horror movies.

This year my summer was fun. It was fun because I got a chance to spend it with my grandparents. They own a family owned grocery store called ‘’Owens Grocery’’ on Bails Drive. I have always enjoyed helping out my grandparents. Especially since they are getting of age. Some things I do in the store include: cleaning, bringing plates to the customers, ringing up the customers, bagging, sweeping etc. Helping out people is really fun especially the ones you love.
I really don’t care too much of the heat. It gets to hot and my worst enemy comes out. I really dislike wasps. Ever since I got stung last year three times. There is something that I like about summer, and it is going swimming. Swimming with my family is nice. They are the ones that actually know how to swim. So if something was to happen to me in the water they’ll be right their so save me hopefully.
School is fun for me and so are the breaks. My birthday is during the winter break which is sweet. I was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on December 30th 1997 at Women’s hospital. My full name is Micalah Gabrielle Green. Having a birthday right before Christmas is the best thing ever. Getting presents on Christmas then more for my birthday, oh yeah! I really like the month of December.
My have a medium size family. I have four cousins, two sisters, and one brother. My siblings names are Ariel, Kamryn, and Kaiden. My cousins names are Sidnee, Sierra, Monica, and Kirkland. My mom name is Erica King .I love her so much because she is the best mom anyone could ever ask for. I also love my aunts, uncles, and grandparents.
Three adjectives that would best describes me is introvert, curious, and beauteous .I would choose introvert because I am a little shy and sometimes like to be to myself. I would choose curious because I am always wondering and asking about things and would like to know the answer. My aunt Malissa Wright and I are pretty similar. She was just like me when she was thirteen. My aunt attended Baton Rouge High when she was young and loved it. She was the only one in my family to go their and still is today. Hopefully I will be next because I really would like to go their and I know it’s a great school. My two cousins and my sister all goes to McKinley High School .They really enjoy it their. If I don’t make it to Baton Rouge High next year then my next stop will probably be McKinley High school.

This summer I slept until late in the afternoon and ate til I couldn't eat anymore. Now, I know what your saying that is not an exciting summer, but I have to finish. I went to my cousin Laurie’s house, I played the Wii, ate crawfish, which was nasty because they didn't let it cook long enough and had a baby drool on me!!!! I just realized that baby boys love to drool and when they start teething they take anything away from you and put it in their mouths(like my purse) and don't plan on giving it back either.
I like a lot of things, some of which include: hanging out with friends, going shopping and to laugh. I like to hang out with my friends because they are always there for me and their my school family. I like to go shopping because I ALWAYS want to dress to impress(: !!!! When I go shopping I always go to Love Culture, first, then Aeropostle, then the Food Court!! I love to laugh because my laugh is wonderful and people are just so funny these days!!
I like a lot of things but I dislike more, which includes: people who smack while chewing gum, people who chew with their mouths full(ugh). The reason I dislike people who smack is because its distracting and its very rude. Another dislike of mine is when people chew with their mouth wide open, people who do that obviously have any home training or table manners.
My expectations for eighth grade ELA is to read more booksbecause reading is very important and I need to expand my vocabulary.
I was born on December 2, 1997 in Shreveport, Louisiana. In Shreveport I was born at Schumpert hospital, Birthing Room 102.
My family is crazy and loving. Their crazy because we always know how to fun and we are always weird!!! My family is loving because they always giving me advice and always looks out for me. My parents names are Huey and Brendetta A. I have two wonderful sisters named Brittaney M. and Jourdan A. Both of my sisters are my role models because they are always easy to talk to and they are just like me, in so many ways!
Caring, energetic and funny are what I think describes me. I am caring because I always put people before myself. I am energetic because I am always filled with a lot of energy!!! I am funny because I get it from my dad, he is always cracking jokes and making people laugh and as my family calls me “Baby Hue”. The high school I want to go to is Mck ( McKinley Senior High School) because I want to be in their Great Scholars Program. My parents want me to go to BRMHS (Baton Rouge Magnet High School) because of the academics but to me school isn't JUST about academics it is about making new experiences too. So I am going to say still looking.
One thing that is interesting about me is that no matter how I feel. I am always going to have a smile on my face because I was taught never to let anything or anyone change my mood .

Dear Ms. Kimbrough,
While I was out of school, I was eager to come back. I love school,and this year being my eight grade year only made it better. I would like to tell you about myself and my summer.
This summer was one that I will never forget. My family went to Gulf Shores, Alabama. I enjoyed swimming in the beach. We saw plenty of fish and one jellyfish. My cousins and I collected tons of seashells for memories. Another great part of our trip was going to Lambert’s Café. At Lambert’s, the employee’s throw huge chucks of hot, buttery bread to anyone who will try to catch it. They also have enormous servings of food. I also enjoyed going shopping but surprisingly not as much as swimming.
Some information about me is that I was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on January 1, 1998 at Women’s Hospital. I have a younger brother who is 10. He can drive me crazy, but whenever he’s away for too long I miss him. My parents are divorced, and I live with my mom.
I like going shopping, reading, swimming, playing the piano, and learning new things. I have always liked doing these things, and I don’t think that I will ever stop. I dislike insects, being in the spotlight, and being unprepared. I have realized that as I got older some of the things that I used to hate doing, I now love to do. Although, I don’t think that I will ever not worry about being unprepared. I hate when things change without my control that affect me, and they change for the worse. This is part of why I am a perfectionist.
I would say that I am determined, shy, and intelligent. When something grabs my interest, I cannot stop thinking about it, and before the day is over I will most likely do it. I am not comfortable around unfamiliar people and in those instances, I tend to shy away and act like I am not there. I read, write, and study a lot. This is not always for school but because I love doing it. I love learning how to solve a problem.
My goals and expectations for ELA is to get all A’s, read more books, test higher on STAR Reader tests, and get more AR points. ELA is one of my favorite subject and I do find it to be very interesting at times. I love reading books and writing research papers because I love finding out information on new topics.
I plan on attending Baton Rouge High Magnet and being successful there. To do this I will form good habits now to be even more prepared there. Sadly, there is no other interesting thing that I would like to tell you expect for the fact that I plan on this year being one of the best.

I am very excited to be in your class this year. I will love to tell you a little bit about myself now.
This summer has been fantastic but I’ll like to tell you about one exiting thing I did this summer. This summer in May I went to Disney world with the cheerleaders, my mom, and my baby brother. At Disney world the cheerleaders had to perform at Epcot which happened to be the most exciting thing of my life. All the cheerleaders were given 3 day passes to go to any park at the resort and we even stayed at a hotel on the resort. The rides were very fun there even though my brother couldn’t ride them all, but at least I got to ride them with some of my friends. I also went to gulf port Mississippi and went to a water park which was very fun.
I like and dislike a bunch of things. First I will like to tell you what I like. Some things that I like is to cheer, shop, dance, sing, watch TV, and get on the computer. These are the many thins I like to do and I usually do this type of stuff on a daily basis especially cheering, dancing, and singing. I mean every time I get a chance I sing and dance. Now it’s time for the dislikes. My dislikes include going to the movies without my friends, and finally, staying at home and doing nothing.
Like I said I am very excited to be in your class so, I’m going to tell you about all my expectations for your class. I expect to of course learn 8th grade English. Also to have my book level raise a little bit higher. Of course I’m ready for the reading. Finally I’m expecting way more fun projects. This is all I’m really expecting from your class as for now.
Now I want to get back to me. I was born in Baton Rouge at women’s hospital. I was born on January 13 1998. Now that I told you where I was born I need to tell you about the family I had for 13 years. My mom is a school teacher at Polk Elementary and pretty much worked as a teacher for like 10 years. My dad works at bunny bread and is recently opened a snow ball stand in Baker called Bunnies. My step dad is very nice and works at Brazos Forest Products so he pretty much drives trucks all day but off on weekends. I will like to tell you about my grandmother. She’s retired but she’s been in my life for a while. She even takes care of mainly my baby brother and me. And I know she’ll always be there when I need her. Finally my brother he’s two years old and if you think you haven’t witnessed terrible twos then you hasn’t seen my brother. But we still love him even if he is in his terrible twos.
Three adjectives I will like to use to describe my self is intelligent, because I know I am and I have the grades to tell you to. Another adjective to describe me will be nice because I am super nice I don’t think I’ve ever been really mean. I will help people and I’m very respectful to my peers, teachers, parents, and any body that’s older than me or younger. The final word I would use to describe me is fun because I always have to have fun. I’m always dancing and having lots of fun doing it.
After my year at Sherwood I plan on going to Baton Rouge high. Even though there are no sports I still will like to go since I’m at Sherwood and I can get into Baton Rouge high. I will like to go to Baton Rouge high because I was always at fantastic schools so I want to go to pretty much the best high school. I hope I get ready for it.
Finally to conclude my letter I will like to tell you some interesting facts. I am a cheerleader again for Sherwood so I’m excited for that. I used to be a dancer for three years when I was in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. I also have two brothers one on my dads side and the other on my moms side. That’s all the interesting things I can tell you about I know nothing else interesting I can say.

Hi, my name is Arielle. I’m looking forward to being in your class this year. So here are something’s to know about me.
Something fun I did this summer was, go to Foley, Alabama. I had fun, my mom, my cousins, my aunts and I went shopping and was supposed to go to the beach but didn’t. We also so went to a restaurant called Lamberts Café. It was a long drive there, it took four hours to get there and four hours back. Talk about tired. Too bad we didn’t get to stay the night in a hotel. But I still had fun. Basically that’s all I did this summer literally.
My likes and dislikes. My likes, well I like apples, cut pineapples, watermelon, and maybe grapes. I also like food. My dislikes, I don’t like bananas, hate bananas. My other dislikes I don’t know or remember at the time. Oh and I dislike when Styrofoam rub against things and it makes those squeaky noises.
My expectations for ELA are to do my best and do all my assignments on time and have no late work what so ever. And try to make A’s all the time, if I can.

Dear Ms. Kimbrough,
I look forward to your class, it sounds very exciting and filled with joy, and the occasional homework. I hope it gets better and better with every passing day, if it doesn’t, well, it will and I know it!
I really loved going to the skate park when I could over the summer. I also met my friend Richie, by the late summer, we both had a great time until I fell for the first time in a while. I guess I was nervous, because I never fell, but things happen, and you have to live with it.
I love it when I get to go outside, it’s like a blessing and I enjoy every minute of the fresh air. I don’t understand what is so great about being inside, it’s cold and lonely, as if there was no one to talk to or play with. I really don’t like playing video games anymore, I just don’t see the point, and it is so repetitive.
Even though school is such a drag, I don’t know what anyone would do without it, it’s like what would anyone do without English in America. I really expect the class to show the same importance and care, just like math. I am ready and willing to succeed in such an important class and give it my A-Game.
You know, a lot of people make fun of my own state, after all it went through so many tornadoes and everyone got together and worked to get their street, or their neighborhood cleaned up. That’s the Oklahoma spirit, and it will always be in my blood no matter how long I stayed there, which was only 2 years. I can’t stand people calling my birthday, Earth Day, April 22 is my birthday, and I was born in Mercy Hospital, in 1998. It’s just like saying, I don’t like what happened on Independence Day about 2-3 centuries ago, but I like it because of the fireworks display every year.
I feel special that I was born in such an overprotective family; it makes me think about how easy it is for someone to die. My mom is the only one I live with, but my grandpa died a couple of years ago, and he was the closest thing to a dad that I ever had. He taught me how to throw and catch a baseball, even tried to teach me the proper way to swing a baseball bat. My mom is just about the only mother I know, that knows how to throw a football, baseball, and a softball.
Since I only live with my mom, and I have little friends who live close by, it is hard for me to talk to new people, or a group larger than 3-4 people. So I would call myself a shy person, and very laid back, I think it is a curse rather than a blessing. People sometimes say that I am quick to anger, and that is partially true, I only get angry when someone talks about anything about me, so another word to describe me would be protective. I am also a very intelligent person, and people come to me when they have problems in various subjects, so I would say I am a very smart and sympathetic person.
Since I am a very smart person, I need to be given a challenge, not an easy grade; I wish to go to Baton Rouge High School. It is a great place for someone like me to go and actually learn something, everything else would be way too easy for me. I want to go to Baton Rouge High, because it is also a very crime-free school, not as many stabbings and fights as anywhere else, I don’t feel like getting killed in high school.
If anything about me would be interesting it would be my 3 youtube videos, which I made myself, as pivot stick figure animations. They are called Stick Figure Random Chaos 1, 2, and 3, you should really check them out, and tell me what you think! I also have a rare interest in trying to climb large buildings, not like spider man, with only handholds and footholds, sort of like jumping from ledge to ledge. It is very fun, not very many people approve of it, so I can only try it every once in a while, and when I can I don’t usually make it all the way to the top.
I hope that my life isn’t as boring as some people I know.

I am thrilled to be in your class this year. These are some things about me that you should know.
This summer I visited Orlando, Florida with the Sherwood cheerleaders. I was elated to go back for the second time. I went with my mom, my brother, and my aunt. It was my little brother, Keelan’s first time going and he said “It was the best time of his life.” I also enjoyed Disney and hope to go back very soon.
Some things I like are music, coloring, and watching TV. Music is my life and I don’t think I could live without it. I spend most of my day listening to music. Everyone knows I like to color. Coloring relaxes me when I’m stressed and I like to color pictures of puppies. I love to watch TV and one of my favorite shows are “My Strange Addiction”. I actually learn many new things from that show. Some things I dislike are liars; pens, and one word text messages. I don’t like liars because there is no reason for people to lie. I dislike pens because if you make a mistake, it’s hard to correct it. I erase a lot and a pen would just make my work look sloppy. One word text messages bother me, also. I just hate I when someone reply’s back to you and says “Oh.” How am I supposed to respond back to that?
My goals for ELA this year are to work hard and learn to write better report/essay papers. I have had problems with writing papers for ELA in the past, but I am determined to be a great writer. I am good at writing but not very good at spelling. I would say that I spell like a 5th grader. I know that probably sounds bad, but I am getting better.
I was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on May 16, 1998. I was born at the women’s hospital. A real cool thing about my birthday is that I share it with Janet Jackson. I am the oldest granddaughter of 6 grandchildren.
As I mentioned before, in my family are my mom, and my brother. My mom is about to have another baby now and it’s a boy. My mom works for the State of Louisiana and is working on getting her bachelors’ degree in accounting. My little brother, Keelan is 6 years old and is very hyper and loves sports. He is always there for me no matter what. I love him so much.
Three adjectives that describe me would be funny, stubborn, and practical. I am funny because I make a lot of jokes and gestures in class. I laugh at everything and I have a good personality. My family says, I am stubborn because, I don’t listen to them sometimes and I like to do things fun and the way that is best for me. My friends say that I am very practical. They can tell exactly how I am feeling by my facial expressions.
I want to attend high school either at Scotlandville or BRMHS (Baton Rouge Magnet High). I haven’t decided yet, but my uncle went to BRMHS and it now going to get his PhD at University of Michigan. If I go to BRMHS, I won’t have him around to help me with my work. I also want to be able to go to football games and have a little fun in high school. I don’t think BRMHS will provide that experience for me.

I had so much fun this summer. It was a blast! I went to Biloxi beach with my family and my friends, Went to the mall, hung out with friends and went out of town to visit my grandma. I also went to Blue Bayou and the new water park. In Biloxi we went to this go cart place, ate at restaurants and our room was on the beach. My cousin got stung by a Jellyfish. The last thing I did this summer before I came back to school was go to the Skate galaxy Back to School Bash! We had fun there. Although, I was so embarrassed when my mom came in to get .She said that we took to long. Over all my summer was great.
Well let me tell you a little about me. I was born in Ferriday Louisiana. This wasn’t intentionally. My mom and some of her family were leaving California and were driving through Ferriday. My mom was pregnant with me at the time. She started going into labor at the gas station. The hospital was right across the street. I was born that night on February 7, 1998. I am thirteen years old now and I haven’t always lived in Louisiana. I’ve also lived in Mississippi and Missouri.
My family is pretty huge. I have two older brothers. Their names are Bryant and Darin. I also have two older sisters. Their names are Carmen and Jenasia. I am The Youngest child as you can see. I live with my mom, dad, and sister Jenasia. The rest of my siblings are old enough to live alone. I had three dogs named Towdoe, Ruby, and Bitty.
I love monkeys! I don’t know why .They are so cute to me. I want one when I get older. I also love dolphins because they are gorgeous. My favorite color is blue and my favorite food is enchiladas. My mom makes the best Enchiladas. I love to have fun and have a great time. I like volleyball, soccer, and cheerleading.
If I were describing myself in three words I would say outgoing, random, and funny. I always bring life to parties and when I’m sick my friends get upset. They say it’s boring because I’m not acting like myself. I’m random because I always say the weirdest things and I don’t know why. I guess that’s what leads to me being funny because people laugh at everything I say.
My expectations for this year’s Ela class are to get straight A’s and focus a little more. And 7th grade I wasn’t really focused. I was always lost because I didn’t pay attention. This year I’m trying to be a better student and study more. I also want to learn a little more then I did last year.
I plan on going to Baton rouge High or either Woodlawn high. Hopefully now you know a little more about me. Baton Rouge high is a great school academically and Woodlawn high is a great school in curriculum. That’s why it’s hard for me to decide. I want to have a good education and I want to be involved in school sports and electives. They are both great schools though.

I am very excited to be in your class this year! I know i will learn many things in ELA this year. I would like to tell you a little bit about myself.
This summer was the best. Me and my family went camping at Yogi Bear campgrounds. We had caught alot of catfish when we wnt fishing but unfortunatly i had to let mine go because it was just a baby. We all sat around the campfire and told stories, we went hiking, we even went swimming! During that time i believe that the whole family became closer with one another.
The thing that I like the most is running. I run every afternoon after school. I want to join track this year but i dont like to run for competitions I like to run because i enjoy it. Another thing I like is music without it I dont think I could survive. I know at least 800 songs and I know basically all the lyrics to alot of songs. The thing I dislike the most are small noises like tapping humming etc. I dislike it because it gives me a headache. Another thing i dont like is math. It's hard and very frustrating I would be happier if it didnt exsist.
My expectations and goals for ELA this year is to raise my reading level up because I want to read more advanced books that I would enjoy. I would like to improve my writing skills a little more. I also want to be on the A B honor roll all year so i'll study hard and keep up with my grades.

I have 3 cats named Mai-tai, Dragon, and Mixy. I also have 2 dogs name Axel and Maddie. I love living with my family.
The three adjectives i would use to describe myself are clumsy, out going, and talkative. I am clumsy because i run into walls and trip over my own two feet at leats twice a day. I am out going because I do things that i set my mind to and I do anything for fun. I am talkative because I can talk none stop about anything and everything and dont stop until i get tired.
I plan on attending Baton Rouge High next year. I want to attend there because I think it's a good school to go to and that it would prepare me for collage. BRH would help me be want i want to be when I grow up.

This summer I went to california to visit my grandpa and cousins who live there. I went with my mom and little brother. We went to Redando beach, a shopping center called The Grove, Dave and Busters, and Disney Land. It was a great trip. My likes are video games because they are fun, tv because I like to watch my favorite shows, and sports because I like to play my favorites them. My dislikes are board games because they are boring, reality tv because the people act to dramatic, and golf because it is not exciting like other sports.

This summer, I went to Houston, Texas, with my family. It wasn’t fun at first because we got lost on our way going to the hotel. When we got there, the hotel manager was very rude and racist. Then, we went to eat at Dim Sum. It was so delicious that I ate two whole crabs. After that ,we pretty much spend the whole day shopping . Overall, I had ton of fun in Houston and my family is hoping to go again next year.
I have many likes and dislikes. For example, I like to draw, read, go shopping, playing piano, and hanging out with my friends. I have been drawing since I was a little kid, it’s something I spend most of my time doing. I admit I’m not a fast reader, but I still enjoy reading once in a while. Some of my dislikes are taking care of my little sister, staying home too long, and people with bad personality. I considered myself a very adventurous person, I don’t like staying at home too long. I feel trap and stress.
My expectations for ELA this year is to learn a lot more things and improve my knowledge. My goals this year is simple. I will try my best to do good in ElA and make Ms. Kimbrough proud.
I am not a native here. I was born in Phan Thiet, Vietnam, on November 20,1997. I really don’t know what’s the name of the hospital I was born in, and mom don’t remember either.
I considered my family an extra small family because it only consist of me, my little sister, my mom, and my dad. My family moved to America when I was 7 years old and then five years later, my sister was born. What’s special about my family is that we all have the same Chinese zodiac, which is the ox. I think it fit my family because we’re very hard working and persistent.
Three adjectives I would describe myself would be creative, bubbly, and random. As I have mention before, I like to draw and that’s how I usually express my creativity. Normally, I’m very bubbly. I always think positive in everything I do and I love to smile. I called myself random because my friends told me so, and also because I always win the random game with my friends.
I am planning to attend Baton Rouge High in the future. I heard that it’s an excellent school and I hope to be able to get accept into it.

Dear Ms. Kimbrough,
I have heard great thing about you and some bad things, too. I’m so excited that this year I get to see for myself if those things are true. Since you introduced yourself to me on the first day of school I would like to introduce myself to you.
This summer I did quite a few things, I went to the new Red Lobster, stayed a week in Shreveport and I had tons of crawfish. The Red Lobster was so beautiful. I was paying more attention to the decoration than to my fried shrimp (that was very delicious). Also, in Shreveport I went there to meet the new member of my family my baby cousin, Aleigh. She was so cute and adorable and when I held her she opened her eyes for the second time for me! When we got back from Shreveport we didn’t waste any time to get us some spicy crawfish.
I really don’t like it when people wake me up when I’m sleeping, that annoys me more than anything. Another thing I don’t like is the show “The Price is Right”. I hate the show because I always get the price wrong! I’m serious every single time I get it wrong. I do like “Jersey Shore” that show is awesome who ever says they don’t like that show is probably watching it in a mental hospital. I also like Mac and cheese, not the kind out of a box the homemade kind the way my mama makes it.
This school year in ELA I expect to have all my questions answered and leave the school knowing everything. I also expect to have tons and tons of fun in you class because if I don’t you’ll be right on my most hated classes list with Coach Randolph. Another exception is to always laugh in your class at least once. My goal is to make at least A’s and B’s in your class all year.
I was born November 3, 1997 at 10:46 in Baton Rouge General. I’m a Scorpio, people say that a Scorpio is sensitive but you will never see that side of me. I always wanted to be born somewhere else like Los Angeles or New York but I wasn’t, I guess it just wasn’t meant to be.
I have a very big family in the family is my mama, my daddy, my older brother Andre, me, my younger brother Winston, my younger sister Jaylah, my little sister Genesis and my little brother Elex. We have a lot of fun together. There’s not an adventure that I’ve been on without them. Some people say they don’t have a perfect family but to me I believe I do have a perfect and I wouldn’t change a thing.
Three adjectives to describe me would be funny, nice and mean. I would say that I’m funny because I’m always make my friends laugh and went I say laugh I mean rolling-on-the-floor-about- to cough-up-a-spleen laughing. I would say I’m nice because I really do try to do the right thing. I mean it’s not easy especially in this society of today. As hard as it is for me to admit it I am a little mean, at times. I plan on attending high school at Baton Rouge High. I knew that, that was the high school for me the first time I drove by it. I have dreams of many things in my life and not a lot of them came true but I know that I’m going to Baton Rouge High. That’s a dream that I will make come true.

This summer was alot of fun! I went to Jackson,Mississippi and Memphis,Tennessee for our AAU national basketball tournement. I met alot of new people too! I also went to New Jersey to stay with my cousins.
I love basketball I play every chance I get. I love Basketball because it helps me clear my mind and get away from things, I like the color green because it is my favorite color, I like chocolate, I also like sports and moving around alot. Hello Ms. Kimbrough my name is Jenaro James. I’m very excited to be in your class this year. I know we will have lots of fun and experience many learning opportunities. Here is some things I would like you to know about me. This summer was the most boring yet. Most of the time I stayed at home and watched television. Every two weeks I would have to cut the grass. My lawn is the very big. It has a large hill on it. Also during the summer I played baseball for the Central Pirates. At the end of the season we came in second place. I hope I will have a better summer next year.
I like and dislike a lot of things. I will first let you know about my dislikes. I dislike working in groups and reading together. I hate nuts and figs, because I had a bad experience with both of them. One time when I ate pecan ice cream, my throat swelled up and I was hospitalized. Me and my friend were playing kickball and the ball went under a fig tree. After I got the ball , I broke out everywhere. The thing I will like for the rest of my life is social studies and baseball. I never made a B in social studies in my life. When I grow up I want to be a Historian or an Archeologist. I’ve been playing baseball ever since I was six and loved it ever since. I also like working alone and brownies. My goals this year for ELA is to be the best writer I can be and try my hardest. I also want to make straight A’s in this class for the whole year. I was born in Zachary, Louisiana on May 9th 1998. I was born on Mother’s Day. My best birth day is when I was 11 years old. We went to Blue Bayou and it was fun. I fell off the purple and gold ride. After Blue Bayou we ate cake and ice cream at my grandmother’s house. That was my best birth day ever. My family is very large. My mom is a nurse. I like staying with my aunts. My aunt Karla has three boys. They like coming to my house. My other aunt Chernika has a girl and two boys. My older cousin Jaylin goes to Woodlawn High and he’s on the football team. I like staying with them. My grandmother used to work for the advocate until she retired. I always stay at my great grandmother’s house on some weekends. I have a really great family. I am very excited to be in your ELA class this year. I am looking forward to spending the rest of the year with you and learning all sort of new things. In my opinion, you seem to be very nice and pleasant. On our first visit, you told me a little bit about yourself, and now I would like to share with you some details about me.
Over the summer, I did many exciting things. One event I really enjoyed was going to Biloxi with my best friend Tiana. It was great! That is until we arrived at the Beach. I decided to take a swim far out in the water and I began to feel a stinging sensation on my body. I looked down and I noticed that it was a Jellyfish. I could not believe it. Soon after, the stinging began to whelp up. I didn’t have anything to put on it, so I just left it alone. Once it stopped burning, we continued our trip at the Hotel pool. We spent the entire weekend out there. That was a summer event I will never forget!
In my spare time, I enjoy shopping, hanging out with friends, dancing, and, singing. I like to be active at all times. I don’t dislike many things, but some things I do dislike are reading, sitting at home, watching television, and being rushed to do things. Some people think I’m weird because I don’t watch television. The reason I don’t watch TV is because I don’t really like sitting down. The reason I dislike being rushed is because it really makes me mad. I tend to get confused and can’t concentrate on the task.
My goal this year in ELA is to maintain an A or B average. I also would like to achieve beyond the amount of AR points needed. I will put my best effort in all my assignments and projects. I will also work hard to keep my grades up, pay attention in class and focus on each lesson taught. I will try to learn more and be more responsible so that I can better prepare myself for High School.
I was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on October 26, 1997. I lived in New Orleans until I was seven years old. When I was seven hurricane Katrina occurred, and my family and I had to relocate. I was actually in my home when the hurricane happened. It was a very scary experience. Hurricane Katrina was an experience that I will never forget for my entire life.
I have one younger brother named Quentin Jr... He is five years old. I also live with my mother named Carolyn and my father named Quentin Sr. My brother is in Kindergarten. He goes to Wildwood Elementary. My Mother is a Mental Health Professional. She is employed at Horizon Counseling. My Father is a Social Worker. He works at Gulf Coast.
Three adjectives I would use to describe myself are goofy, active, and unique. I describe myself as goofy because it doesn’t take much to make me laugh. I say I am active because I love to move around. I can’t sit in one spot for a long period of time. Then, the adjective unique describes me because I don’t try to be like everyone else. I like to be different and have my own sense of style.
Next year I will begin on my journey to Baton Rouge High School .The reason I chose Baton Rouge High School is because it focuses on academic achievement. I go to the best Middle School and I want to go to the best High School. I know that I will get the best Education there, and become very successful.

My summer was more of one big thing. My brother, whom I haven't seen in 2 years, came to visit. We spent family time together we couldn't before. It was fun in it's own way, aside from the actual activities we did. We went to Blue Bayou and the mall over the summer. It was a good time.
Moving to personal reference, like others, there are things I do and don't like. Some of preferences are video games, atv riding, and skateboarding. My dislikes include Italian food, country music, and sometimes school. Sometimes I can be somewhat fickle on issues like this. I'm off and on on some matters, it's almost a family thing.
As far as this year goes, I have set some goals. Those included are to not have my my grade below a B, as English was never a strong point. I also aim to have a 95% average on homework all year, more mom's goals than mine. Overall I want to have a better school year for myself and teachers. Hopefully, with help, I can achieve these goals.
About myself, I was born in Louisiana, the place I live now. Like any other, I was born in a women's hospital, in Baton rouge. I am not sure at what time I was born, but it was before noon. I was born September 22, 1998, first day of autumn. Because of this I am also a Virgo.
My family is some what simple, with my father, mother, older brother Michael, sister-in-law Lynne, nephew Jeremiah, and myself. My parents are basic, one strict, one soft. My brother and sister-in-law are two halves is same, two completely exciting, full-of-life, and unique people. My nephew is basically everything of my brother, plus his mother, his own spin multiplied by nine; it can't be put into words. My family is a boiling over pot of every kind of person. Sometimes a difficult bunch, but still my family.
If I could pick three words to describe myself, I'd use intelligent, difficult, and average. Intelligent is one because I do like to learn, sometimes, and I just have general knowledge. Difficult also describes me at sometimes I could be stubborn on some points, like anyone would. Average because, that I is self explanatory. I try not to stand out yo much at certain times. I'm just like any other kid.
I plan to attend Baton Rouge High School next year. I like the school's wide variety of courses and curriculum. It's also the top school in state, which makes it a parental preference. Another thing is that being a top school would look good on college transcript. It's also a good headstart on life. Besides, I kind of don't have a choice.
Lastly, for school purpose, sometimes do actually do forget I have assignments in some classes. I also can become unorganized and lose things. I also function on logic, it's almost natural for me. Sometimes I don't like to ask questions either, again, almost natural. That's kind of all I have to say now.

I am very excited to be in your class this year. I look forward to learning more about E.L.A and reading. I would like to tell you about my summer.
This summer my family and I did go to New Orleans and had my first kickboxing match. No one won because it was an exabition match but I did have fun. The other people from my gym won to though and we all had tons of fun.
My likes are video games and MMA. I like video games because I’m good at them and some of my friends play them. I like MMA because it gives me something active to do and stay in decent shape. Some of my dislikes are waking up early tests. I don’t like waking up early because I’m not a morning person. When I wake up I feel weak and drowsy. Tests make me nervous and sometimes I don’t study for them, which is going to change this year. Tests also change my grades very easily, and not always better.
This year in E.L.A I want to get better at writing and have a lot of fun. I want to learn more about poetry also. I’ve heard a lot of things about your class being fun and I hope those weren’t lies like you say. I am also looking towards Halloween this year in E.L.A. Last year it looked really fun and exciting.
I was born at Bangkok, Thailand on November 10, 1997. My mom is Thai and my dad is American. I lived there until I was four then moved here to the US. I knew how to speak Thai but forgot when people taught me how to speak English. Since I’ve been here I’ve only been back to Thailand once, and plan to go back next summer.
I have a pretty big family. Both my mom and dad are together. My dad is a manager for a crane and rig company and my mom is a house wife. I have one brother and two sisters. I have one grandma left and I’ve never met my either of my grandfathers. I have many cousins and I am uncle of four. That is most of the family I know and I am close to.

Well, enough my about summer, now for my likes. A few things that I like are watching television, going to the mall, and acting. I love acting because it is fun pretending you are someone else. I get to leave my life behind and jump into someone else’s for a few hours. I like to go to the mall because it’s fun hanging out with my friends and talking about random things. The smell is horrible and does damage to your lungs. Also, I believe that the people are paying for something to kill themselves.

I would like to tell you something fun I did this summer. This is summer I went to San Antonia for my friend’s brother’s high school graduation. We stayed at his house there for about a week and a half. It was pretty fun because, we went to places like the Paladium, a big Imax theater. And a big cave where we got to see a big sinkhole. And of course the graduation was awesome too.
To make this letter interesting I want to tell you what I like and don’t like. One of the most things I like and probably goes for other people is to play video games; I am a total video game freak. I like to play first person shooter games like: Call of Duty. One other thing I like is to swim, I did take swimming lessons at the Y (Y.M.C.A), but I didn’t really stay there for long though. Now I want to tell what I dislike. And I’m sorry to say Ms. Kimbrough, but I don’t like really like to read. Even though I can read a lot, I’m just not that interested. Oh, and waking up early in the morning for school. Yes, I like to go to school but waking up at 5:30 A.M. is just not that easy.
I have two expectations for this year in ELA. The first thing is to do my homework and my classwork. I do slack sometimes, which is problem to succeeding. So, this year I’m pushing myself to limits. The second thing is to put effort into things. What I mean is, when you give projects, I could do my work and get a B. But I could have done more into the project and got an A which could have increased my grade.
I was born in Bamyan, Afghanistan on March 17, 1998. When we first came to America, my mom and my family didn’t speak a word of English and, we didn’t have a translator with us, so we could not give them our correct birthdate. So the government gave us our American birthdays, mine is December 31, 1997. When I was Afghanistan, life for me was simple because I was a baby. After a while my family and I moved to Pakistan. We stayed there for a while. But my mom wanted better for my family, so we moved to the U.S. where we went to New York, and finally moved to Louisiana.
My family is pretty large. First I have my mom whose name is Mariyum. And I have my three sisters, Malika: the eldest, Tehmina: second eldest, and Zara: fourth eldest. And then I have two brothers, Mustafa: Third eldest, and Mujtaba fifth eldest. So an overview of my family: Mom, Malika, Tehmina, Mustafa, Zara, Mujtaba, and Murtaza.
Three adjectives that would describe would be: funny, because I always make me and my friends laugh. Zoned out, since my friends sometimes have to repeat themselves. And a push over. Because if one of my friends accidentally makes a mistake, I kind of let it slide.

Hi my name is Tyler, I would like to share some information about me.
This summer I went to Dauphin Island,Alabama It's a 8 mile long island. It was literally 1 block to the Gulf side beach and 1 block to the bay side beach. We came back on the day before school.
There's many things I like but not that many I dislike. One thing I like is going to amusement parks. I never really go to any,so it's really fun for me. One thing I dislike is how some surfaces will make a chill go down your spine if you scratch it, and what's worse is you feel the urge to scratch it.
I expect to have a fun year in ELA this year. ELA has always been the mot creative subject and I feel it will be again this year. ELA has also always been my easiest subject so I expect to get an A+.

I had a great summer.I also want to tell you a little bit about myself.
This past summer I went to Galveston, Texas. I went to the beach and I found some seashells. We also went to Moody Gardens and went to the rainforest pyramid and saw lots of different animals, like birds and monkeys.
The things I like to do are read and play video games. Once I am into a book I can't put the book down. I LOVE playing video games. I can play them for hours.
My expectations for ELA this year are to learn more about differnt types of literature and I also expect to have LOTS of fun.

This year in ELA I really want to do my best. I want to make sure I pass. I want to understand what I learn. I think I can do this by listening more and ask questions if I don’t understand something. This year in ELA I want to even better that last year.
I was born January 21, 1998 at 12:09 PM. I am thirteen years old. My sister came a minute after me. I always take advantage of being a minute older than her. I was born at the Women’s Hospital. I was in the hospital for a month because I was too small to go home just yet. My parents always told me I was a fat baby and my sister was smaller.
I live with both of my parents and my sister. I have two other siblings. My daddy, David is from Chicago, Illinois and my momma, Brenda is from Zachary, Louisiana. They have been married for 23 years. I have a twin sister named Briona and an older brother named DJ. DJ is 23 years old. Actually to say my brother and I get along, when I see him.
If I make the grades, which I think I can I plan on doing, I am going to Baton Rouge High. My second choice is McKinley. I plan on sticking with my first choice. I never doubt want to doubt myself. I thought about going to McKinley as my first choice, then I realized that I was better going off the Baton Rouge High.
I really enjoyed my summer. We went to the beach twice. We also went to the outlet mall in Foley, Alabama. I went on a little shopping spree! I got lots of stuff. They let us get a credit card and get reasonable stuff. That’s when I finally got my IPod touch 4g. That made me so happy. I can admit I felt a little spoiled that day. After that we went out to dinner at Chill’s. Just to spend time like that with my parents made the whole trip so great.
My dislike is when people smack on gum. I mean do you really have to do that. You can chew with your mouth closed and don’t have to let everybody know you know you have gum. And people that chew like that who chew gum in class always get caught.
One of my likes is spending time with my three year old nephew named Jaedyn whenever we get to see him. He is so cute. He loves to eat. One time I was eating ice cream and he has a cookie. He came to me and stuffed the whole cookie in his mouth and asked me to pick him up so he could eat my ice cream. I barely had any ice cream that night.
Some adjectives I would use to describe myself are shy, quiet, and nice. I say shy because I really don’t like being around people I don’t know. I would maybe try to go find my friends or people I know. I also say quiet because I really am. I really get that from my momma. I would lastly say nice because I try my best to be nice and enjoyable around.

Dear Miss Kimbrough,
I’m looking forward to having the best year with you and my class. I would like to tell you a few things about me.
I was born on April the 9th on 1997 at the Lady of the Lake hospital. At the time my mother, Marian and father, Kerrone Sr. was married. They had move to Baton Rouge from New Orleans a year ago.
My mother and father got divorces when I was little. My mother is now remarried to my step father, Mr. Alvin. They got married this summer in Jamaica, but they met at their job at the Post Offices. I have two older brothers name Byron and Kerrone Jr. My brother Byron is the oldest and he just finish high school. He is my best friend in my family. My other brother Kerrone is one year older than me and he goes to a new school in downtown called Mentorship Academy.
I like to listen to my music, have fun with my friends, and babysitting. When I listen to my music it seem like all my problems go away. Playing with my friends makes my life much easier because I have people that keep my spirit up. I like to babysit because I love adorable babies that smile and giggle. Also I get money while I’m enjoying myself. My dislikes are people that annoy me, lying, and bullying. When people annoy me they make me mad. I don’t like getting mad over something stupid. I hate when people lie because it hurt my feels and furious me. I just don’t think it’s no reason to lie. Bullying is cruel because it is mean people that take their problems out on other people to make their self feel better and I think that’s mean.
Three adjectives that describe me would be that I’m laid back, fun, and shy. I’m shy because I’m scared to show off my personality and I don’t want anyone to judge me. When I show my personality my friends say I’m fun. I try to not let anyone or anything stop me from having fun. I’m laid back because I don’t let little things get to me and plus I love relaxing.
Something that interesting about me is that I can sing really well. I love to sing because I think is beautiful to hear my voice sing in a song.
I when to Europe this summer with a program call People to People. The People to People program is for kids to be ambassador of our country. I spent three weeks in Europe with some kids from Baton Rouge and New Orleans. The places I traveled to is England, London, France, Paris, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, and last but not least Switzerland. My favorite country is Switzerland because it was beautiful being in the mountains.
What I expect for this class is to have fun while I’m making good grades. My goals are to pass the English on my iLeap test with advance.
I would like to get accept to Baton Rouge High because it’s a good school and can help me get in a good college.

This is what I did this summer. I went to Orlando,Florida with my mom and we had so much fun we went to a water park called wet "n" wild it was a blast.
Here are some of my likes and dislikes. My liked are; track, football, swimming, and baseball. I chose them because they can keep you active and healthy. My dislikes are; mean people, dirty rooms, people screaming at me, and dogs chasing me.
My expectations this year is to maintain an "a" or a "b". My goal is to have all of my accelerated reader points. The main reason I want to maintain an "a" or a "b" is because if I do I will end up being rewarded.
I was born in Zachary at lane memorial hospital. I was born April 13, 1998. I stayed in baton rouge all my life and I don't plan on going anywhere until I go to college.
I come from a long line of athletes in my family. My dad was a track star and my mother played basketball. My family loves to make jokes so I guess you can call us humorous . I'm glad and really thankful for my family I love them all.
I think three adjectives that would describe me is funny, athletic, and clumsy. I say I'm funny because I can make anyone laugh. I'm athletic because I play basketball, run track, and play football. I'm clumsy because I trip over everything I basically walk over.
When I do to high school I plan on attending Zachary high school. They have a very legit academic program and have good sports that I like to play.

My name is Princess P. I am so excited to be in your class this year. I’ve heard from your previous students how enjoyable your class is, so I can’t wait to experience for myself. So since you’ve told me a little about yourself I think I should return the favor and tell you a little about myself.
Well, I tell you about my likes and dislikes. A couple of things that I like or enjoy is music , food, hanging with my friends, and texting, but mostly I love hanging with my friends , because it’s so enjoyable to be with people your age and to associate with people that share the same interest that I do. Now, some things I dislike are bananas, homework, and cats. Out of all those the most I dislike bananas! I really do not like bananas because they’re so yucky and stinky and I just dislike them.
My expectations and goals for ElA are to actually stay focus this year and not to procrastinate. I say to focus because I have a hard time being focused on one thing. My minds often wonder and think about other things, especially during reading. I always start to think about something else besides my book. I always say procrastinate because, I often wait until the last minute to do my assignments. I let things pile up on me and end up doing them at the last minute and end up getting stressed out. So I need to work on that as well.
I was born December 9, 1997 at the “women’s Hospital.” I was originally supposed to be born on December 18, 1997, but I came kind of early. My mother works at “Wildwood Elementary.” She is a clerk. Her job contains of answering the phones, filing papers, and entering kids into the computer for registration .My stepfather is a trucker driver that owns his own company “Low-Style Trucking.” He began local driving, and then he started driving to different states, but now he just go to New Orleans and back to Louisiana now. I also have three sisters. Two of them are twins. The twins are seven and my other sister is humorous, fun, and lazy. I’m humorous because I’m always laughing, I love to laugh, and I think everyone and everything is funny. I say fun, because I’m enjoyable to be around, when you’re with me your never going to have a dull moment. I always say lazy, because I don’t like to do anything such as chores, homework, and anything else that involve me actually doing anything. I know that sounds bad, but it’s the truth.
The High School I’m thinking of attending is Woodlawn High. Woodlawn is very close to my home and I know a lot of people there, but my mother wants me to go to Baton Rouge High. I don’t mind but that’s not the school I really want to go to. Everyone says it’s a great school so I might just try it out. It’s better to get an education than to just go to school to associate.
Lastly, I would like to tell you that my favorite color is green. My favorite subject is Spanish and Physical science. I am absolutely in love with Chris Brown. He Is my favorite singer, favorite actor, favorite everything. He is very handsome. I own every album he has ever made on my phone, but yeah that something interesting about me.

Dear Ms. Kimbrough,
This was one of the best summers I ever had. I have had many good experiences this summer one thing stood out this summer. The trip I took with my New Orleans with my group. Everyone had been talking about the trip for weeks but no one could guess what was going to happen. When we got there our first stop was the insectaria which no one liked too much. Everyone’s favorite part was the aquarium but the penguins were kind of scary. On the way back our bus broke down and we did not get back until eight o’clock.
My biggest like would have to be learning. I know that with knowledge you can do or be anything you want in life. My biggest dislike is actually with school. It about how earlier I have to get up. If I had to ride transfer I would never be on time. The time we get up really does not make sense from what research has seen. The research says that it would be better if school started at eleven for kids our age.
This year my main expectation and goal in ELA is to get A’s on all my report cards. My second goal is to improve my vocabulary and reading skills. My third goal is to find reading enjoyable. Not only that but find a book that is interesting and I cannot put down. My fourth and final goal this year is to reach all my AR points.
I was born September nineteenth nineteen ninety-seven. My mother went into labor while my dad was one hour away from my house. My mother still talks about take today. She says she does not understand why it took fourteen hours to get me out of her.
I live with my mom and dad, my mom’s name is Stacy and my dad’s name is Armondo. I really think they should have given me a different name. I basically call the group I am in family since I have known them since the fourth grade. Every Saturday for three hours and Monday-Thursday in the summer for eight hours. It strange how we talk about we hate get up in the morning and seeing each other but we spend about half of the day with each other. We invite each other to go out to restaurants for our parents’ birthday.
One adjective to describe me is intelligent. I would not even be here if I was not intelligent. Another adjective is unselfish, becoming the oldest in my group means that the younger ones have to learn from me and I have to do that. The last adjective is respectful; I know that I need to treat people the way I want to be treated.
I have narrowed my high school down my choices to three schools. My top school is Catholic High mainly because it is the best school in the state. In second is U-High, I know a lot of people there and that are going there. The last school is Episcopal because it is another good school.
An interesting fact about me is that I once had six hundred AR points that same year I was student of the year. Another fact is that I was not originally supposed to go to Sherwood but my form to another school got lost.

My name is Trey Sampson and I am excited to learn ELA from your class. The most exciting thing ai have done this summer is going to Japan. We rade lots and lots of planes to get there. The planes that had small televisions in them were fun. I got to meet my grandparents in Japan so it was nice.
I have a lot of likes and dislikes. One thing I like is soccer because it is fun to play soccer. One dislike I have is tennis because I never really got into the sport. I play soccer a lot it is my favorite hobby. I practice playing soccer a lot and get better each day.
This year I expect to learn a lot from ELA. I want to learn about different types of novels. I want to learn about fiction books and stories. I want to learn better ways to understand a book. This school year I want to read more books.

This summer I went to Disneyland. It turned out one of my bestfriends was going the same days I went. She was going there with the cheerleaders so me and her went to the same parks on the same days except one of the days she was performing. I had a REALLY amazing time with her.
Some things I like to do is drum. I was in the advanced band last year and this year, and I was in the jazzband for 6th grade, 7th grade, and this year is hopefully gonna be my 3rd year in jazz band. I also like to play the piano. I dont take lessons, I just learn stuff when i'm bored, but I think I play piano more than I drum now. I also like playing paintball and riding bikes and doing tricks with my friends
Somethings I dislike is whenever my wrists break. I have broken my right wrist 2 times and my left wrist once. I also dislike whenever my little brothers annoy me. They always leave stuff in my room and then I get yelled at from my step mom for having a dirty room.
My expectations for ela this year is to learn more stuff about ELA. My goal is to get alot better grades than I did last year. Last year I made a d in literature? I hope I don't make a bad grade like a d in your class.

I’m looking forward to this year in ELA with you.
Something I did this summer was traveling to Huston, Texas with my family to see my cousin. We went to the waterpark, the aquarium, and the galleria. I also went to a couple of sleepovers and went to Blue Bayou.
I like to listen to music, talk on the phone, and read. I do everything while listen to music like wash dishes and homework because the music relaxes me. If I didn’t have music I would be kind of cranky and jumpy. I like talking to my friends and reading is just fun for me. Some of my dislikes are when people repeat things, sitting still for a long time, and I don’t like being hot. Sitting still for a long time makes me antsy and uncomfortable so does the heat. When people repeat things it annoys me because I’m like I heard you the first time.
My expectation for the ELA year is to get better spelling and grammar because my spelling is horrible.

In my family I have my mom, Bernice, my dad, Curtis, My sister, Alisha S., and my brother, Curtis Ray. My sister is married and has two children and is in college. My brother is also married and they both have moved out and rarely come to visit so it’s kind of like I’m an only child which sucks.
Three adjectives I think describe me are goofy, laid back, crazy. I’m really goofy because I laugh at anything like if someone came up to me and said zebra I most likely will laugh. I’m laid back sometimes I just want peace and quiet. I can be kind of crazy sometimes like dance to music that’s no there.
I plan to go the Baton Rouge Magnet High. I like there school and all the different activities you can do.

I'm VERY happy that I’m in your class this year. I want you to know a little information about me.
I was born April 15, 1998 in Saginaw, Michigan. I was raised in Michigan then moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I liked my hometown alot but my mom and dad had to go to work in Louisiana. So our whole family had to say farewell to our childhood town.
My family is super big. My mom, Clara, is a teacher at an elementary school called La Belle Aire Elementary. She teaches 5th grade and the students lover her because she is so nice and caring. My dad, Tom, is a mail man. I love going to his job. It's super cool to see what it's like to work there. I also have 2 sisters name Layla and Maria. 1 brother named Javonte. They are so funny and fun to hang around.
This summer I went to alot of new places! I went to Dallas, Texas for the first time. We went to see my auntie and my cousins. It's so hot in Dallas, so it was really hard to adapt to the temperature there. After we went to Dallas, we went to Atlanta, Georgia. It wasn’t as hot as it was in Dallas, so we got to see most of the city. It was incredible there!
I have alot of dislikes and likes. I like to sing alot because it's freeing and fun to do. I feel like I can express my feelings more in song. Also it’s just a fun way to relax, let go, and just enjoy singing to the music. I dislike onions, pickles, and tomatoes. They taste nasty to me so I rarely ever eat them. My whole family loves them but not me.
My goals for this year in ELA would be to learn more. I have trouble with grammar and I would love to get extra help in that department. Another goal I have is to make my reading level higher. I believe I can read higher than I am right now.
Three adjectives I would to describe myself would be outgoing, smart, and short. I think I’m very outgoing because I’m not afraid to speak my mind and I always have a good time whether it’s doing sum thing boring or fun , I’m always the life of the party. When it comes down to smartness, I got it down pat! I strive to do my best in everything I do, even if it’s just little things. Then last but oh so not least, my shortness. I would have to say my shortness is my biggest advantage. Many people would call it a disadvantage but that’s only because they don’t understand how it feels. It’s actually fun being short and small!
When I get to high school I plan on going to McKinley High. I want to go there because I think they have the right courses for me. I want to major in either law or dance, so I think this high school can help me with that. It will give me a head start in my career life, even though I have a long way to go. You can never be too ready.
I love Lil Wayne to death! His songs are just like legendary. I would have to say he’s the best rapper I know in this generation. I know everything about him and I know all of his songs. He’s the best!
